Aston Martin F1 team deepen Saudi links with Ma’aden partnership
With a title partnership already in place with state-owned oil giant Aramco, and an additional deal agreed with state-owned Saudia last year, Aston Martin’s links to Saudi Arabia are extensive. The Formula One outfit further strengthened these connections by signing a technical collaboration with Aramco earlier this year, which will see the company deliver advanced fuels. The partnership announcement features comments from Lawrence Stroll, executive chairman of the Aston Martin Formula One team, which is typically rare for a deal like this. It’s also notable as the focus of this deal is on Ma’aden positioning itself as an employer, rather than any particular benefits for Aston Martin.

Saudi Arabia’s start-up airline places £6bn plane order in challenge to Gulf rivals

PIF partners with Google Cloud to create AI hub in Saudi Arabia
The partnership will provide AI training for millions of Saudi students and professionals, supporting the national objective of expanding the information and communication technology sector by 50 percent. Through Google Cloud’s technology, industries will have enhanced access to AI applications, enabling growth and capacity building. The agreement, subject to regulatory approvals, also includes joint research on Arabic language models and Saudi-specific AI applications.

Saudi startup Riyadh Air orders 60 Airbus A321neo planes
Riyadh Air plans to begin passenger flights next summer and has placed an order for 60 A321neo planes, the largest among Airbus’ best-selling A320neo family, the company said in a statement. “This deal strongly reinforces the positive economic impact of Saudi Arabia’s newest airline on both a global and local scale to facilitate the fast-growing Saudi aviation ecosystem,” Tony Douglas, the CEO of Riyadh Air, was quoted saying in the Airbus statement.

Saudi Arabia says 540 companies have chosen Kingdom for regional headquarters
Saudi Arabia’s investment minister said on Tuesday the number of companies in the Kingdom with a regional headquarters had reached 540, ahead of a 2030 target of 500. “Our target was 500 regional headquarters by 2030. I’m glad to announce we have reached 540 by this morning,” Khalid al-Falih said during the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference in Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia cleared to buy over 1,000 TOW missiles by US State Department
Saudi Arabia has requested to buy 507 TOW 2A radio frequency (RF) (BGM-71E-4B-RF) missiles (including seven ‘fly-to-buy’ missiles) and 507 TOW 2B RF (BGM-71F-3-RF) missiles (including seven ‘fly-to-buy’ missiles). The following non-Major Defense Equipment is also included in the deal: support and test equipment; simulators; generators; integration and test support; spare and repair parts; communications equipment; software; facilities and construction support; publications and technical documentation; and various aspects of engineering, logistics, technical, training and programme support.
