Saudi Arabia calls for the creation of an independent Palestinian state to protect the rights of the Palestinian people, the Kingdom’s deputy foreign minister said during the United Nations Security Council debate as he urged the council to take a firm stance against Israeli military occupation in the region. International firms rush for local licences as Saudi Arabia amends Code of Law Practice
The changes, which were first published in June and came into effect in December, require foreign law firms to obtain their own licence to operate as a branch office or as a joint venture with local lawyers, with the latter needing to own at least 25 per cent of the partnership.
Additionally, two partners from the law firm must live in Saudi Arabia for a minimum of 180 days a year, while 50 per cent of the firm’s lawyers in the country must be Saudi nationals. -

And Iraq-born Herro Mustafa Garg pledged the US’ ongoing support for Egyptian efforts to bring about an end to regional conflict and broker a two-state solution for the people of Palestine and Israel.
