    Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding Telfaz11 Studios has announced the genre-bending epic “Al-Gaid” (working title), set to be the first feature to go into production under its exclusive nine-picture deal with Neom, the sprawling production hub in Saudi’s northwestern corner. Set against the backdrop of the 19th-century wintery northern Arabian desert, “Al-Gaid” is penned by Saudi novelist and writer Ahmed Alhokail and blends the revenge genre with Bedouin soap opera tropes, “crafting a unique narrative tailored for an Arab audience,” according to a Telfaz11 statement. “Rooted in an authentic Saudi perspective, ‘Al-Gaid’ aims to revolutionize the landscape of Saudi epic films.”

  • Saudi Arabia’s PIF Raises Up to $5 Billion Loan With Korea Export Agency

    Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund raised a loan of up to $5 billion from a group of nine banks in a deal that involves the Korean export credit agency to help boost trade between the two countries. The Public Investment Fund, which manages about $778 billion in assets, has agreed the initial $3 billion loan with a tenor of 13 years with Korea Trade Insurance Corp. and has an option to boost it to $5 billion, according to a statement on Tuesday.

    The Gulf Cooperation Council countries are gaining recognition as key players in reinforcing global energy security, the organization’s secretary-general has said. Speaking at the 19th Manama Dialogue Conference titled “Regional Security Summit,” Jassim Al-Budaiwi emphasized the GCC’s role as a trusted global partner in the energy sector, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday. “Energy security occupies a prominent place in the policies of the GCC countries,” he said. Organized by Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the summit convened from Nov. 17-19 in Manama.

    Saudi champions Al-Ittihad have named Argentine Marcelo Gallardo as coach through to 2025 following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo, the club said on Saturday. Gallardo returns to management after leaving River Plate last year following an eight-year spell that saw him guide the team to 14 titles, including two Copa Libertadores, making him the club's most successful coach.
