Millions of Yemenis to Go Hungry as UN Forced to Slash Food Aid
The WFP said on Sunday that it was forced into the rationing as a result of not receiving enough funding, global economic conditions and the continued knock-on effects of the war in Ukraine. The WFP provides food aid to 13 million people in Yemen, but the new cuts mean it will only be able to provide five million of them with 50 percent of their daily food requirements, with the remaining eight million only getting 25 percent.

Macron tells Biden that UAE, Saudi can barely raise oil output
On Monday, benchmark crude rose after Reuters reported Macron's comments. Brent oil prices rose 1.7% to above $115 per barrel as the West seeks ways to reduce Russian oil imports to punish Moscow. Saudi Arabia is producing 10.5 million bpd and has a nameplate capacity of 12.0 million-12.5 million bpd, which in theory shall allow it to raise production by 2 million. The UAE is producing some 3 million bpd, has capacity of 3.4 million and has been working on raising it to 4 million bpd.

Israel and Saudi Arabia ‘in talks over joint defence against Iran’
Top military officials from Israel and Saudi Arabia have met in secret US-brokered talks to discuss defence coordination against Iran, according to a report. Delegations from Riyadh, as well as Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan and Egypt, met the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) chief of staff in the Egyptian town of Sharm el-Sheikh in March, the Wall Street Journal revealed on Sunday, citing US and regional officials.

Riyadh labor court rules in favor of 149 workers, awards SR28 million in financial claims
The employees, who belonged to 10 nationalities, lodged their class action suit, demanding their financial rights, which included delayed salaries and wages of vacation not availed, in addition to end-of-service gratuity. The employees filed their lawsuit on April 22. The court ruling was issued for the first batch of 119 employees on May 12 while the ruling for the second group of 30 employees was pronounced on May 22.

Low-cost Wizz Air launches new flights from Saudi Arabia to UAE, Europe
Europe’s low-cost carrier Wizz Air is launching new flights from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to Rome, Vienna and Abu Dhabi, according to a statement. Flights to Rome will start on Sept. 28, while Vienna operations will commence on Sept. 30. Tickets for all destinations are currently on sale on the airline’s website and mobile app, with fares starting from €24.99 ($26.4).
