Saudi Arabia’s annual rate of inflation last month eased to 2.3 percent, down from 2.7 percent in June, according to official data. According to GASTAT, which produces and publishes the official data, housing, food and transport were among the drivers of a rise in consumer prices in July from a year earlier.

Non-oil economic activity in Saudi Arabia contributed 50 percent to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product in 2023, the highest level ever, the Ministry of Economy and Planning said on Thursday. Saudi Arabian oil giant Aramco reported blowout full-year earnings on Sunday, posting a more than doubling in year-on-year net profit to $110 billion. Aramco’s 2021 net income increased by 124% to $110 billion in 2021, compared to $49 billion in 2020, citing higher crude oil prices, stronger refining and chemicals margins, and the consolidation of its chemicals business, SABIC’s, full-year results.

Saudi Aramco JV to build refinery and petrochemical complex in China
Called Huajin Aramco Petrochemical Company (HAPCO), the JV includes North Huajin Chemical Industries Group, and Panjin Xincheng Industrial Group. HAPCO will be responsible for building the integrated liquids-to-chemicals complex. To be built in Panjin City, of the Liaoning province, the refinery and petrochemical project will receive crude oil feedstock of up to 210,000 barrels per day from Aramco.
