Residential rental deals in Saudi Arabia surge 137% in June
Residents in Saudi Arabia have been benefiting from the availability of more housing options as the number of residential rental deals surged 137 percent in June compared to the same month in 2022. The rental index revealed that more than 240,000 deals were recorded, reflecting 190,000 more agreements than those posted in the same month a year earlier, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The index aims to achieve transparency and stimulate investment in the Kingdom’s rental real estate sector. Saudi Arabia and Japan to co-operate on crude exports and clean hydrogen
Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter, will continue its co-operation with Japan in areas such as crude exports and clean hydrogen, the kingdom’s energy minister has said. Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia, which is responsible for 40 per cent of Japan’s oil imports, will ensure the security of supplies to the energy-starved Asian country, the official Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday. The minister also emphasised the need for joint co-operation between the two countries in the field of clean hydrogen and its applications, in addition to developing the infrastructure for “circular carbon economy” applications.

Germany loosens arms exports to Saudi Arabia, but continues blocking Eurofighter jets
Germany on Wednesday agreed to loosen some of its restrictions on weapons sales to Saudi Arabia but is continuing to block deliveries of Eurofighter jets. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government coalition reached an agreement to allow weapon exports to Riyadh "in specific individual cases", Scholz's spokesperson, Steffen Hebestreit, said in a statement, which cited the kingdom's ceasefire efforts in Yemen. The conditions for those weapons sales are that the weapons must not be utilised in Yemen and must not be used in relation to potential human rights violations, Hebestreit added.

Saudi Arabia: E-Visa for Tourism Expanded to Certain UK, US, EU and Schengen Visa Holders and Permanent Residents
Effective immediately, the Ministry of Tourism expanded the eligibility for e-visas for tourism to individuals holding a valid business or tourist visa issued by the United Kingdom, United States, or Schengen Area countries; permanent residents of the United Kingdom, United States or European Union; and their first-degree relatives. Previously, these individuals could only obtain a visa-on-arrival.
