Saudi-Yemeni relations have been strained more often than not. Because the two share a border, the Saudis have intervened whenever Yemen’s volatile mix of political, tribal, and sectarian tensions and perennially stagnating economy threaten to throw the country into endless violence and chaos. Yemen regards Saudi Arabia’s heavy involvement in its domestic affairs as an attempt to exacerbate existing problems and keep the country weak. Saudia transports over 21 million passengers in 9 months
Saudi Arabian Airlines transported a total of 21,116,905 passengers during the first nine months of 2014. This is an increase of 11.62 percent compared to the same period last year, during which the national carrier transported a total of 18,918,726 passengers, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Saudia begins its massive operation to fly Hajis home
Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has begun operating more than 1,600 Haj return flights to all destinations from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed International Airport in Madinah following the end of the annual pilgrimage.
