Inaugural Islamic Arts Biennale in Saudi Arabia extended until May
Saudi Arabia's Islamic Arts Biennale has been extended by another month. The inaugural event, held at the Hajj Terminal of the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, will continue until May 23. It will allow more visitors to see about 280 Islamic cultural artefacts on display and the more than 50 new commissions and contemporary artworks by new and seasoned regional artists.

According to the State Information Service website, the project aims to “provide high-quality agricultural products at reasonable prices for citizens and export the surplus abroad, which contributes to reducing imports, saving hard currency and achieving sustainable development goals,” in addition to providing about 10,000 direct jobs and more than 360,000 indirect jobs. Recently in March, Saudi Arabia also revealed its plans to build a ‘river’ longer than the Nile, which will be four meters deep, 11 meters wide and 12,000 kilometers long.
