Explosions rock Yemen airport as new government arrives from Saudi Arabia, killing at least 25
A large explosion struck the airport in the southern Yemeni city of Aden on Wednesday, shortly after a plane carrying the newly formed Cabinet landed there, security officials said. At least 25 people were killed and 110 wounded in the blast. Yemen's internationally recognized government said Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired four ballistic missiles at the airport. Rebel officials did not answer phone calls from The Associated Press seeking comment. No one on the government plane was hurt.

Yemen’s president orders unity government to Aden after swearing-in in Saudi Arabia
The new Cabinet announced on Dec. 18 consists of Hadi loyalists as well as members of the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the Islamist Islah Party, the presidency said in a statement earlier this month. Hadi on Sunday ordered the new government to begin tackling war-torn Yemen’s economic woes, according to Yemeni state news agency SABA. The Yemeni president-in-exile added that members of the new government should also take their oaths of office in Aden.

Saudi government signs supply chain finance agreements with three banks
After oil prices crashed in 2014-205, the government of the world’s largest oil exporter reduced or suspended payments that it owed to construction firms, medical establishments and even some of the foreign consultants who helped to design its economic reforms. The finance ministry then pledged in late 2016 to accelerate the payment process within 60 days from receiving the invoice. Monday’s agreement will support government efforts to speed up the pace of payments and dues to private sector suppliers, Samba Financial Group said in a separate statement.
