Tawakkalna tops government platforms in digital experience maturity index
Tawakkalna app, affiliated with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), topped the government platforms in the Digital Experience Maturity Index for 2024 in Saudi Arabia, with a rate of 91.29%. This is among 39 digital platforms that were evaluated according to 4 main perspectives, under which 20 axes were included: measuring beneficiary satisfaction through the participation of more than 175,000 beneficiaries in evaluating their satisfaction with their digital experience and dealing with their complaints and evaluating the digital technologies and tools that enable these platforms.

Saudi Arabia welcomes Sudanese government’s decision to reopen border crossing to aid
Saudi Arabia on Thursday welcomed the Sudanese sovereign council’s decision to allow the use of the Adre border crossing with Chad for three months to enable the entry of aid into areas of the Darfur region. The Kingdom’s foreign ministry said it notes the positive impact of this step in addressing humanitarian needs, facilitating the delivery of aid, and ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers.

Saudi: New Nazaha law stipulates termination of government employee if convicted of corruption
A government employee shall be terminated from service in the event of conviction of corruption by a court of law. Legal measures will be taken against an employee if he amasses wealth disproportionate to his income. These provisions are included in the new Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Law, approved by the Council of Ministers on July 23.

Saudi government agencies boost emerging tech adoption by 10% in 2024
Saudi Arabia’s government and businesses are advancing technology adoption and investing in programs to digitally upskill the population. A new report by the Digital Government Authority revealed that the performance index of Saudi government agencies in Emerging Technologies Adoption has improved significantly by 10% compared to last year, rising from 60.3% in 2023 to 70.7% in 2024.

Palestinian factions agree to form unity government after talks in China
Palestinian factions including rivals Hamas and Fatah agreed to end their divisions and form an interim national unity government during negotiations in China that ended on Tuesday, China's foreign ministry said. The Beijing Declaration was signed at the closing ceremony of a reconciliation dialogue among 14 Palestinian factions held in China's capital from July 21-23, according to the readout. Previous efforts by Egypt and other Arab countries to reconcile Hamas and Fatah have failed to end 17 years of power-sharing conflict that have weakened Palestinian political aspirations, and it remains to be seen whether this deal will survive the realities on the ground.
