    Saudi Arabia's industrial sector is set to see closer integration of its digital platforms and the development of new online products thanks to an agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Digital Government Authority. Under the deal, the MIMR will provide advisory support regarding decisions and regulations related to digital transformation and digital government work in order to enable the ministry to activate all industrial sector services, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

    Article Six of the regulations states that it does not prevent companies that do not have regional headquarters in the Kingdom or any related party from submitting offers for public biddings by any of these agencies, provided that these entities do not accept the submissions of these companies or related parties except on two occasions: The first is when there is only one technically acceptable offer, and the second is when the offer submitted by the company, which does not have a regional headquarters in the Kingdom or the related party, submitted the best offer after the overall evaluation from a technical point of view and is financially 25 percent more or less than the value of the second best offer.

  • Amak obtains exploration licence from Saudi government

    The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has licensed Almasane Alkobra Mining Company (Amak) to explore gold, zinc, and copper in Aseer province. Under the licence that was issued on 2 January 2023, Amak will explore an area of 20.67 square kilometres in Dhahran Al Janub, according to a recent bourse filing.

  • Finance Ministry launches e- service for government fee payment from outside Saudi Arabia

    The Ministry of Finance, represented by the National Center for Government Resources Systems (NCGR), launched the electronic payment service for government services fees from within and outside Saudi Arabia. The service will be implemented in cooperation with the Digital Government Authority (DGA). This will be through a collection system for government agencies, which allows the beneficiary to complete the process of paying his service fees through the platform of each government agency that works for the service through bank payment methods such as Mada, Visa, MasterCard, and Sadad.

    Germany's coalition government has approved new arms export deals to Saudi Arabia, media reported on Thursday. The reports emerged after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz returned from a trip to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar. Berlin had imposed a ban on weapons exports to Riyadh over its involvement in the war in Yemen, as well as accusations of murdering the dissident US-Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
