    Saudi authorities have arrested a number of people across the country for drug-related offenses in recent days. On Saturday, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Ardah governorate in the Jazan region foiled four attempts to smuggle more than 185 kg of the narcotic plant qat. The General Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested two citizens in the Jazan region for trafficking 32 kg of hashish. They were also found in possession of firearms and live ammunition. Authorities also arrested a citizen in the Northern Borders region for trafficking amphetamine.
