Petrochemical projects continue to dominate the commencement of upcoming projects across the oil and gas value chain in Saudi Arabia, accounting for around 60% of the total projects starts expected during 2022 to 2026, says GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company. GlobalData’s report, ‘Middle East Oil and Gas Projects Outlook to 2026 – Development Stage, Capacity, Capex and Contractor Details of All New Build and Expansion Projects’, reveals that petrochemical projects would witness the highest projects starts in Saudi Arabia (45), followed by midstream (15), upstream (fields) and refineries with eight and seven, respectively. Of the 45 petrochemical projects expected to start operations in the country by 2026, 37 would be new builds and the remaining are expansion projects.

Saudi Arabia’s TRSDC plans artificial wetlands as project advances in construction
The developer of the world's largest sustainable tourism sites, The Red Sea Development Co., is planning to create artificial wetlands to further improve the environment as the company is advancing construction work. TRSDC, as the company is known, plans to create 38 hectares of artificial wetlands which are expected to attract birds and bats to feed on the many insects and invertebrates that colonize the wetlands, Damian Smith, a senior manager in the project's environmental team told Arab News.

Aston Martin F1 team sign long-term deal with Saudi’s Aramco
Aston Martin have signed a long-term partnership with Saudi Arabian oil company Aramco, the Formula One team said on Thursday, in a move it hopes will aid its ambition of fighting at the front of the grid. Aramco, already a major Formula One sponsor whose branding appears on trackside signage, will work with Aston Martin to help the team meet Formula One’s target for cars to be powered wholly by sustainable fuels by 2025 and develop more efficient hybrid engines in motorsport. The partnership will also involve the development and commercialisation of fuel-efficient engine technologies for road cars, advanced lubricants and the deployment of non-metallic materials in vehicles, the team said in a statement.
