New Cases of COVID-19 Continue to Decrease in Saudi Arabia

New cases of the Coronavirus reported in Saudi Arabia continue to decline from peak points as the Kingdom sees progress in combatting the spread of the deadly virus, according to official data.

Saudi Arabia announced 35 more deaths from COVID-19 and 1,383 new cases of the disease on Friday. The latter figure is down significantly from earlier peaks this year in June and is starting to form a “flattened curve” in detected cases.

Last Sunday, the Kingdom recorded 1,357 cases, which was the lowest total in three months and a milestone in a steady decline since June 17th, when daily new positive cases nearly reached 5,000.

The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 262,959 after 2,566 more patients recovered from the virus, and Saudi Arabia’s death toll stands at 3,338 people.

On Thursday, the health ministry announced Saudi Arabia had conducted more than 4 million COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests since the beginning of the outbreak.
