The acceleration of mega and giga projects in Saudi Arabia will likely aid in the recovery of the Kingdom’s construction industry, Al Rajhi Capital said in a new report. The brokerage expects a boost to the construction sector based on the government budget figures. “The government’s 2023 budgeted revenues are likely based on Brent of $78 per barrel, which is likely to aid in strong government spending,” it said. The construction sector has shown signs of recovery in the third quarter of 2022, with local cement sales volumes increasing by 5.4 percent year-on-year between July and November 2022.

The company’s growth has been primarily led by its master franchisee, Alamar Foods. Chiefs from both Domino’s global and Alamar Foods convened at store number 600, located in Dubai’s Mirdif area, to celebrate the milestone.

Lucid raises $1.5 billion from Saudi public wealth fund, others
Electric vehicle maker Lucid Group said Monday that it has completed a planned $1.5 billion equity offering. The company first announced the offering in November, when it reported its third-quarter results. Lucid raised the majority of that cash, about $915 million, via a private sale of nearly 86 million shares to an affiliate of its largest investor, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The remaining $600 million was raised via a traditional secondary stock offering, in which Lucid sold an additional 56 million shares. The funding round was structured to keep the Saudi public wealth fund’s stake in Lucid at its previous level, about 62%.

Baghdad-mediated diplomatic talks between regional rivals Iran and Saudi Arabia have come to a halt, largely because of Tehran claims the Sunni kingdom has played a role in alleged foreign incitement of the mass anti-government protests underway in Iran, multiple Iraqi officials said. The talks had been lauded as a breakthrough that would ease regional tensions. Iraq’s new Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said last month after taking office that Iraq had been asked to continue facilitating the dialogue.

Saudi digital ID holders can travel within GCC after obtaining required travel documents
Saudi Arabia's residents can travel to Gulf Cooperation Council countries using their national electronic identification provided that they comply with two conditions, a statement by the General Directorate of Passports known as Jawazat clarified. To be able to travel with their digital ID to GCC countries, Saudi inhabitants are required to obtain a visa as well as a travel document.

Wizz Air launches $49 ticket from Abu Dhabi to Saudi Arabia
Budget airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will soon operate a new route from Abu Dhabi to Medina, Saudi Arabia, priced at AED179. The route will begin operations in February 2023. Tickets are already on sale on the Wizz Air website and the airline’s mobile app, with fares starting from AED179, one-way.
