British Open Allows Golfers From Saudi-backed Series to Play
Players who have joined the new Saudi Arabia-funded league will still be allowed to compete at the British Open next month, organizers said on Wednesday. The U.S. Open had allowed players who were banned by the PGA Tour for signing up to the LIV Golf series to play at last week's tournament. “Players who are exempt or have earned a place through qualifying for the 150th Open in accordance with the entry terms and conditions will be able to compete in the Championship at St. Andrews,” R&A chief executive Martin Slumbers said in a statement.

Brooks Koepka becomes latest star golfer to leave PGA Tour for LIV Golf Series, sources confirm
Four-time major champion Brooks Koepka is the latest golfer to defect from the PGA Tour to the LIV Golf Invitational Series, sources have confirmed to ESPN. Koepka, 32, is one of the highest-profile players to join the breakaway circuit, which is being funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and is fronted by two-time Open winner Greg Norman. LIV Golf is expected to announce the addition of Koepka in the coming days, sources have confirmed. Koepka, who is ranked 19th in the Official World Golf Ranking, is expected to compete in the first LIV Golf event in the United States, at Pumpkin Ridge in Portland, Oregon, starting June 30.

Wahed Inc. (Wahed), a New York based global Islamic fintech company, today announced that Wa’ed Ventures, the venture capital arm at Saudi Aramco Entrepreneurship Center (Wa’ed), is leading their $50 million Series B funding round. Other investors in this round include footballer Paul Pogba, who has also joined Wahed as their latest brand ambassador, and strategic family offices and institutions.

Saudi Arabia’s LIV Golf Series Upends Genteel World of Golf
The golf champions were settled in their chairs at a news conference to promote their new Saudi-financed tournament when a reporter raised the uncomfortable question of the oil-rich kingdom’s human rights record. The 2010 U.S. Open champion, Graeme McDowell, to the obvious relief of the players sitting alongside him, took it on. “If Saudi Arabia want to use the game of golf as a way for them to get to where they want to be, and they have the resources to accelerate that experience,” McDowell said, “I think we’re proud to help them on that journey.”

Johnson excited to see what LIV Series has to offer golf
Dustin Johnson's loyalty is currently with the PGA Tour but the twice major winner said on Wednesday that he is excited to see what the upstart LIV World Golf Invitational Series could do for the sport. For the moment the Saudi-backed venture has proven only disruptive as it attempts to poach players from the established PGA and DP (European) Tours, tempting defectors with massive prize purses like the $25 million up for grabs at next month's series opener in the Centurion Club outside London.

No TV network deal yet for Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf Invitational series, but report says production deal could irk PGA Tour
NEP already works with the PGA Tour, doing all the behind-the-scenes work that creates the live product that fans watching at home see on CBS, NBC or ESPN. As Ourand reports, the PGA Tour “has been dissuading its corporate partners from working with the Saudi-backed upstart league.” NEP reportedly beat out a few others for the LIV deal, should it actually pan out, and they’d be one of the only companies working with both the PGA Tour and the breakaway LIV series. Ourand writes that most companies that have contracts with the PGA Tour are steering clear of LIV.
