Saudi Arabia's foreign minister said on Thursday the kingdom would prefer to have the U.S. as one of the bidders for its civilian nuclear programme. The Miami Herald reported that it would be a "complicated" deal valued between $125 million and $150 million over the length of the contract, which it estimates to be 2½ years in length, with an option year for 2026. The report states it would include salary, bonuses and equity in the team. An issue of top priority is the possible normalisation of ties between Saudi Arabia and Israel, even though officials had played down the likelihood of any major progress on the topic. “They discussed the potential for normalisation of relations with Israel and agreed to continued dialogue on the issue,” the US official said.
