Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Leaves Hospital, Sends Out Eid Message

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz was released from the hospital after gallbladder surgery, and published an Eid al-Adha greeting to his followers on Twitter, according to reports.

Last week, King Salman underwent a successful laparoscopic surgery for an inflamed gallbladder, the official Saudi Press Agency reported.

Despite the surgery and his recovery period in the hospital, King Salman kept working. The King’s successful surgery was completed shortly after the King chaired the Saudi government’s weekly virtual cabinet meeting from the hospital on Tuesday last week.

A video released by the Saudi Press Agency showed the king walking out of King Faisal hospital in Riyadh, followed by several aides and his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), who was wearing a face mask.

“I congratulate everyone on the occasion of Eid al-Adha,” King Salman wrote.  “I ask God almighty …. to lift the pandemic from our country and the world with his grace and mercy,” he added.
