Saudi Arabia’s Rua Al-Madinah Giga-Project Signs Major Deal with Accor for 1,000 More Keys

Saudi Arabia’s in-development Rua Al-Madinah giga-project signed an agreement with France-based Accor group for three hotels, adding 1,056 keys to the area spread across three brands.

Located in close proximity to the Prophet’s Mosque, the planned properties will be part of the Rua Al Madinah Project which aims to elevate the service and travel experience for visitors of Madinah.

The area will soon open a 466-key Swissôtel, a 328-key Novotel, and a 142-key Fairmont. There will also be 120 Fairmont-branded residential units. Novotel Rua Al-Madinah will offer guests a direct connection to the Prophet’s Mosque through a pedestrian pathway, while the Swissôtel and Fairmont Rua Al Madinah will have a direct view over the Mosque.

Earlier this month, Marriott International, Inc announced it had signed an agreement with Rua Al Madinah Holding Company to open eight hotels in Madinah.

The anticipated openings will feature approximately 4,400 rooms across eight of the company’s brands – The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, Westin Hotels & Resorts, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, Four Points by Sheraton, Aloft Hotels, and Courtyard by Marriott.

In February, Parsons Corporation announced that the company was selected by the Rua Al-Madinah Holding Company to provide construction project management consultancy and contract administration services (PMCM) for the project.

The project aims to spread over a total of 1.5 million sq m, 63 percent of which will be used for green areas and open spaces. The development will add over 47,000 hotel rooms by 2030.
